The Orihuela Councillor for Land Issues, Mr Antonio Zapata, reported last Thursday the 31th of October to “La verdad” Newspaper among other press that the administrative body of the “Conselleria” called “Direccion Terrotorial de Urbanismo” was accepting last 29th of October the petition made by Orihuela Town Hall in accordance to the claim submmited by the legal representatives Connie Raymundo and Maria D. Hernandez on behalf of a group of 20 neighbours at Los Mazones-El Mudamiento-Orihuela in order to legalized their twenty houses.
The Councilor said that Los Mazones is the first petition approved by the Conselleria but he also stated that an office will be opened in the following months located at Calle de Arriba (Orihuela) in order to deal with these kind of petitions and due to it, he has encouraged people who is in the same situation to apply for the legalization process in the same terms. Also, he stated that the cost to legalize houses with this system could be between 8.000 and 10.000 euros per house.
Antonio Zapata also clarified some issues related, by example, what happens if one of two of the neighbours at the houses compound reject the payments; the Councilor confirms that this people could be forced to pay and to be expropriated if necessary.
